Welcome to the Hydrogen Knowledge Centre

Established by the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM), the Hydrogen Knowledge Centre is a one-of-a-kind digital resource that is designed specifically for those working and studying in the future energy field.

The goal of this repository is to share essential research, so we can aid the advancement of hydrogen learning globally and support the transition to a net zero carbon emissions future. We work towards this goal by capturing new and existing knowledge from around the world and consolidating it into one easy-to-access platform.

Our aim is to empower professionals, students and academics who work across the wide variety of roles within the future energy space. We’re here to provide access to the latest hydrogen information you need to keep up with industry innovation, progress in your career, and help you to contribute to the important developments taking place across the industry. Ultimately, this resource was created to share knowledge and to offer the latest hydrogen research, as it emerges, from projects across the UK and internationally.

The Hydrogen Knowledge Centre includes resources from academic and research institutions, public agencies, supply chain organisations, as well as energy and engineering experts, who regularly contribute technical research and thought-leading reports.

We are continually building collaborations with partner organisations to source new contributors to the Hydrogen Knowledge Centre, as well as highlighting this innovative resource to those who will benefit from it.

Who can benefit from the Hydrogen Knowledge Centre?

We pride ourselves on the wide range of individuals who can benefit from access to the Hydrogen Knowledge Centre. Having access to this unique resource allows individuals to have the information they need when they need it, and to make industry-based decisions which could impact how we fuel our world moving forward.

Industry experts – when you’re making technical or engineering decisions for hydrogen technologies and applications, accessing existing research and the latest findings is essential, to progress technical development, reduce duplication in effort and speed up innovation.

Academics – keeping pace with the fast changing world of hydrogen innovation can be challenging. Accessing the most relevant and up-to-date information is crucial for research and development and successfully teaching the energy workforce of the future.

Policymakers – in order to make decisions and recommendations that will affect how we power the world sustainably, and understand the impacts of policy changes, it's fundamental that you have access to the most current technical, safety and socio-economic intelligence on hydrogen.

Students – access to the latest research is an essential component of successful self-study and growing your hydrogen knowledge. The platform offers an easily searchable, centralised resource that will save you time and enhance your learning process.

Students can become an IGEM member for free, providing full access to the Hydrogen Knowledge Centre and a whole host of other member benefits. Please visit the IGEM application page for more information on how to apply.
